Hi greg,

  The bad news, official VTK source code only comes with a
vtkDICOMImageReader. As the name suggest it only deals with SOP
classes having a Pixel Data element.
  However the good news is that I have started working on those other
structure in the GDCM project:

  Right now this is not fully working mainly because lack of data

  As a side note the new structure to store segmentation in DICOM
file, will also be supported in the near future.
