[vtkusers] pvti files and Paraview

Hello everyone,
My colleagues and I wrote a pvti output for Paraview. It works fine in ASCII and in binary when single precision is used. However we/I cannot find a way to have binary output in double precision. We did all the conversion in the headers where necessary, like float64. The code is written in FORTRAN. 
Is there anyone that have ever had the same problem and actually solved it?
