[vtkusers] vtk GPU roadmap

I'm curious to know how the GPU roadmap of VTK will look like in the (near) 
futures. On the site at the news section "DOD Awards Kitware Phase II STTR for 
High-Performance GPU Computing" was posted about a year and a half ago. I'm 
curious what the outcome of the effort was? Was this still relates to the 
GLSL / CG integration in VTK? Pointers to any sorts of white papers would be 
much appreciated.
