[vtkusers] Applying regional translucency to a model, and making on model visible through an opaque model?

Dear VTK Users,

I was wondering if it is possible to apply regional translucency (ie.
above a certain plane or points of a surface contained within a given
volume) to a model without clipping it and also whether it is possible
to force an actor which is contained within another actor to be
rendered as if it was not within the other actor?
