[vtkusers] changes to vtk widgets 3d

Hi,

For a project I am working on, I am going to need to modify several of the 3d widgets (sphere, point, plane, and spline). My application needs the ability to disable/enable the picking on a per widget basis. I also need the ability to change the color of the widgets and to add a selected "glowing" state that like a normal 2d control that is selected.

The additions would be 2d equivalent of a read only property, color property, and selected visual state. Looking at HEAD in cvs, it does not look like the widgets can currently do these things (but not being an expert in VTK, I could be wrong however).

Before I go through the non trivial work of getting permission with my employer to release the work back to VTK, I would like to test that there is a chance of getting the changes accepted back. I know, there are no guarantees getting stuff committed, but assuming the code looks ok, would described changes be desirable for kitware/vtk users?
