[vtkusers] help on unstructuregrid and vtkGaussianSplatter

hi i got this examples from vtk examples for python on how to use ustructuredgrid
i seems quite complex does any one have a less complicated example?
if not ...can any one help me to understand the part where the file is read ?
how is the data in the txt file store?
every line contains a varialble? what is going on the th file?
please look at the atached file

all i was looking for is an example for how to plot a surface throgh some given points
