[vtkusers] VTK, Java and Matlab again

Dear VTK'ers,
 
Searching the archives gave me helpful hints to run vtk from within Matlab. 
The main problem I have is that Matlab closes (or crashes?) when I close the render window. I have tried the Cone-examples and SimpleVTK example from within Matlab but found no workaround until now.
I found some entries in the archives referring to the same problem but unfortunately no solution. Has anyone got an idea, hint or solution?
