[vtkusers] pixel value of dicom image

hello:

  I read the CT image( dicom format) with vtkDICOMImageReader, but i can't
find the function to get the pixel value of the image. Does vtk provides any
function to read  (dicom) image and get every pixel value of it??
 it will be perfect if you can provide a example, thanks!
