[vtkusers] vtkImageAppend

Hello    
has anyone managed to work with vtkImageAppend ? I used the AddInput(vtkImageData *input ) method to create a volume from a series of images  (vtkImageData) but it seems that it doesn't (?) work...
any hint /example?
