Hi Anka,

The original poster was asking about the vtk windows installer 
(http://www.vtk.org/get-software.php#latest) that he received with his 
VTK books. The installer only installs a tcl interpreter with VTK 
wrappers - not the actual VTK libraries you can link against.

If you need the VTK libraries (vtkCommon.lib etc) you have to download 
the source and build the libraries yourself. Are you saying that you 
installed VTK libraries that were built by someone else?
