[vtkusers] Saving 2D cross sections of 3D-vtk-files as a bmp, jpg, png...

Hi,

I have 3D data (light intensity distributions) saved in a vtk-file. Now 
I would like to save 2D-cross-sections as a bitmap, jpg or png. How can 
I do that?
At the moment I'm using Paraview to watch the cross sections but there 
seems to be no possibility to save these images in this program except 
by saving the "view image". But then a lot of information is getting lost.
