[vtkusers] vtk pipeline designer?

I was looking round on the internet to see if there are tools to
visually design VTK pipelines (ie by dragging components onto a drawing
board and connecting them via mouse clicks).

The most impressive candidate seems to be VTK designer
http://www.vcreatelogic.com/oss/vtkdesigner
because you can download and install it next to you existing VTK.

However, that seems to work only with one specific version of VTK
(because of lack of time for maintenance, perhaps). So here's me trying
to comply to the most up-to-date version of VTK...

Other candidates seem to be
http://brighton.ncsa.uiuc.edu/prajlich/vtkPipeline
http://mayavi.sourceforge.net/vtkPipeline
http://www.vision.ee.ethz.ch/teaching/sada/get_topic.cgi?id=93&lang=en&mode=
http://www.skippingmouse.co.uk/RPD/RPD.htm
http://unix.freshmeat.net/projects/cassandra

But they are usually programs that *include* vtk, or parts of other
software, sometimes you can even only get them as .exe programs.

Are there any thoughts on what the best choice would be for a visual
designer program/class for VTK, that integrates well into an existing
VTK configuration?

Thanks,
Alle Meije
