[vtkusers] VTK Designer 1.0.5 Beta is Now Available

Hi All,

Version 1.0.5 Beta of VTK Designer is now available. As with each version
the new VTK Designer has a new look and has a lot of new features to
offer. The code is fairly stable; although there is some work in the TODO
stage. The beta version is available only in source code format.

The main goal of VTK Designer 1.0.5 was to make it a productivity tool for
students and teachers of VTK. While going about chasing this goal; we also
added a couple of features to make it more developer friendly. VTK Designer
now has the following features

1. WCMaker Tool: This tool helps author VTK Designer wrappers and plugins
visually. It helps understand the concepts behind wrapping a VTK class for VTK
Designer.

2. Compact Property Editor: The new property editor is less jazz and more
useful. As you over over any property in the property editor; you will
notice that
it shows useful tooltips.

3. Improved VTK Class List: You can now explore the classes offered by VTK
Designer in a much more intutive way. You can either choose to view them by
groups, class hierarchy or suggestions.

4. Improved Pipeline Editor: The pipeline editor now shows brief documentation
of each pipeline element in a tooltip as you hover over the pipeline. Each
connector, connection and pipeline has some tooltips to show.

5. Dynamic Code Generation: VTK Designer now shows the generated code as
you construct the pipeline.

6. Data File Loaders: VTK Designer now has modules to automatically construct
pipelines for loading certain types of VTK Data Files.

7. Integrated Help System: The new and improved help system now shows all
the help topics within a tab in the main window itself.

8. 200+ Wrappers: VTK Designer now has over 200 wrappers. You can visualize
more than you could in any of the previous versions.

9. Easier Feedback Access: VTK Designer now provide easy to use
feedback forms for you to provide useful feedback to the developers of
VTK Designer
