     I have found the same thing.  See the post entitled "vtkVRMLImporter
Ignores rotation ?" around Sept 20:

     I didn't pick up your post when I did a search, or I would have replied
to yours instead of making a new one.  I notice neither has any replies.
I'm new to VTK.  Are you supposed to submit a bug report instead of asking
on the mailing list?
