[vtkusers] Curvilinear volumes

Hello, 
 
I'd like to visualize volumes on a curvilinear grid. I've looked vtkUnstructuredGrid and its seems to be more applicable for unstructured meshes. Please correct me if I'm wrong. 
 
I was playing around with SimpleRayCast example since it loads and renders StructuredPoints . I was wondering whether there are any examples that load unstructured volumes and would greatly appreciate any other tips in this regard.
