[vtkusers] Bit Depth on vtkImageData

Hi friends, here is a silly doubt, but as the book is overbooked I keep
having them.
How can I specify the bit depth of an image on vtkImageData (just like the
imadjust of matlab does)?
because I'm reading Dicom images, so depending on the kind of image I have
different bit ranges.
