[vtkusers] how can i use vtk4.2 together with vc7

Forget it! For one thing, using namespaces will break the TCL/Python/Java
wrapping. However you can use them in your own code if it is not being
wrapped.

 

Unless you have a really good reason to do all this manually, just use CMake
¨C it will do all this for you.

 

You are just making a lot of extra work for yourself and also locking
yourself out of cross-platform implementations, and future upgrades, and
compilers.

I also am interested in building vtk50 but for VC++.Net Express. 
And doing it without using CMake. 
Also, it seems that the use of namespaces might be effective, 
but I would like to defer to others with more experience.

 i used to develope something with vc6(vtk4.2),now just want to try
vc7,because it support stl well.

but i don't know how to set the environment of vc7.........
