[vtkusers] compute gradient of each vertex of surface mesh?

Dear All:

   Is it feasible to compute the gradient of each vertex of surface mesh?  I generated the triangle mesh of isosurface for a stack of segmented image using vtk.

  Any one can give me some hints?
