[vtkusers] vtkDirectory: How to determine if the getFile is a file or dir

I am using vtkDirectory to parse a directory for files.  The problem I am having is that I do not know whether the filename returned by GetFile is a file or subdirectory.Is there a function available with vtkDirectory that will tell me this?  Any ideas on how I would go about this?Thanks in advance.
