[vtkusers] using vtk in python

This package provides routines  for creating vtk files
(see http://cens.ioc.ee/projects/pyvtk/)

With
  apt-cache search vtk
you can look for debian packages with "vtk" in them.

This lists
  python-vtk - Python bindings for VTK
which you should install via dselect
(it should bring in the dependency
  libvtk4 - Visualization Toolkit - A high level 3D visualization library

You might want to have a look at
  mayavi - A scientific data visualization system
