[vtkusers] vtkPanel problems on SGI

I'm trying to use Java with VTK on SGI platforms (IRIX 6.5). I cannot get
vtkPanel to work. Whenever I render something in a vtkPanel, it behaves as if
there were not a Z-buffer and displays surfaces that should be hidden,
resulting in useless images.  The exact same code works fine on my
Linux workstation.

Has anyone experienced similar vtkPanel behavior?  Any suggestions on
what is causing this behavior on the SGI?  Thanks!
