[vtkusers] Problems configuring VTK on Linux

Hi Teresa;

Which version of cmake (cmake --version) do you have? I believe 2.0.6
is the latest. This version does not have, and does not need, the .so
you identify. I believe cmake version 2.0.6 is able to build any current
version of VTK.
