[vtkusers] Question to 3D Slicer users/experts

Hi all;
   I am a new guy to 3D slicer. Now I want to read a new raw vol data.
It is saved in only one file, not in slicers. 
   I read the turial about 3D slicer, it can read raw data in slicers. I 
don't find way to read a file. How to deal with it? I must change the 
files to slices, right?
