Hi there Jeff,

Opinions vary (I think there is much confusion about this bug), but I
could reproduce it on anything from 6111 onwards.

I have a test case, but it's a bit complex and based on vtk + fltk.
With this, I can reproduce the problem in Linux once every 3 or 4 runs
or so.  You're welcome to give it a shot:

I've deliberately modified the vtkFlRenderWindowInteractor to
reproduce this bug.
