[vtkusers] how can I reduce dimension of polydata

Hi users,
        Now,the vtk files are too big for me.So I want to reduce zhe size of them by a considerable proportion.For example,100Mb translate into 10MB.And the rate must be controlled.The dataset that input and output is polydata.I have used some methods, vtkShrinkPolyData,vtkDecimatePro and so on.But the I didn't get a good result.
