Dear Burlen, take a look at here:

there's an implementation of HDF5 imported developed for the 
CosmoLab/CosmoMAF project (look for vtkDHF5* files). I know it supports 
only a part of the HDF5 formatm and if I'm not wrong it relies on the 
libhdf distributed as part of the CosmoMAF application.
