[vtkusers] I want to know wich class can read 8 bit raw images.

Hello I'm study VTK. 
and my Firend study ITK. 
 
My firend made 8-bit images form DICOM files, with ITK. 
 
then I read the images on VTK. 
 
so I want to know  
 
which class can read 8-bit raw images. 
 
 
oh, one more question. 
 
why vtkVolume16Reader cann't read 8-bit raw images? 
or vtkVolumeReader can read 8-bit raw images?
