[vtkusers] How can I modify the points of my object?

Hi,
 
How can I modify the point data of an existing object?
I have read an object from a file and had assigned it to a mapper and
actor for
visualisation.  Later on I will add to each point some values, for
examples 
why the user is loading another increment with displacements for the
geometry points.
How can I assign this displacement to each point of my object and how do
I have to update
the pipeline?
