[vtkusers] save render output without displaying on screen

Hello All,

 

I am volume rendering a 3D data set. But I don't want to render the output
to display instead I want to write the output of the rendered directly to
file or memory. Is this possible with VTK? Or my only way is to render and
then save the render output was an image. Thanks,
