[vtkusers] problem with sample data files for officeTube(s), ...

I am trying to run sample code such as officTube(s) coming with vtk and get
errors such as:

ERROR: In C:\vtk\IO\vtkDataReader.cxx, line 796
vtkStructuredGridReader (0x02D92F00): Unsupported point attribute type:
ë?ï
? for file: c:\VTKData-release-4-2/Data/office.binary.vtk

My first guess was that something was wrong with the input files.

After deleting every line following "ë?ï
?" in the office.binary.vtk, the
error went away and the basic office structures were displayed but the
streamlines were not output.

Is it possible that the input files are not being downloaded correctly? My
OS is windows XP.
