[vtkusers] Hardware Dependency?

Hi !
 
Is there any specific hardware dependency while operating / using VTK libraries one must be aware of ?
 
A certain set of VTK edge-detection functions (and the graphical display of results) called from IDL, performs correctly in a SLOWER Pentium III 512 RAM machine, but doesn't perform correctly when run in a HP Xeon Processor machine having 1 GB RAM and ATI Fire GL X1 AGP Pro graphics card.
 
Where could be the catch ?
