[vtkusers] how to read a 3D DICOM file?

Hi all,

Is there an option in VTK to read a three dimensional DICOM file?
If not, is there a way to convert a 3D data to 2D DICOM slices?
In addition where can I find DICOM datasets of the head sampled with
different scanners (MRI/CT/PET)?
