[vtkusers] From vtkActor class to vtkfile?

Hi vtkusers,
I need help about how I can save my vtk models.

I have a vtkRenderer, vtkRenderWindow, vtkRenderWindowInteractor,...
In my vtkRenderer I have two actors.
Can I save this scene into a vtkfile starting from vtkActor class?
(this actors are imported from a VRMLfile)
Is it possible to save them as PolyData?
Any help will be appreciated!
