[vtkusers] How to get the outer layer

Hello,

I reconstructed a 3D structure from MRI slices data set with the help of
contour filter. 

When looking "inside" the head it looks noisy, I would like to clean
this and to stay only w with the outer layer (the skin of the head).

Is there an easy way to get only the head's skin?
