[vtkusers] Xlib: extension XFree86-DRI missing...

I'm new to VTK and I've got a problem that maybe somebody can help me
with...
Here's the situation:
VTK compiles fine. The first time I run a demo (i.e. HybridCxxTests -
option 1), I see the demo run just fine ("Visualization Toolkit -
OpenGL" in the window header), then the window closes, as is probably
expected. If I try running another demo, or even the same one as
previous, a window pops open, but is blank (white) this time and the
terminal pops out the following error: Xlib: extension "XFree86-DRI"
missing on display ":0.0". The only way to get it to work "normally" is
to log-out (or reboot) first, then it'll work just one more time before
the blank screen. Below this message is a copy of the glxinfo on my system.
The one thing that probably makes my config unique is that this is
running on a Dell system (upgraded to RedHat 9/ XFree86 v
4.3.0-2.90.43), which requires a custom NVidia drivers from Dell. Also,
in case you were wondering, other OpenGL programs (TuxRacer, chromium)
work fine.
Any help solving this problem is much appreciated.
