[vtkusers] Re: starting vtk

hi

i installed vtk 4.2 and cmake 1.8 (administrator version)- thay are both in
C:\   directory (c:\VTK, c:\CMake)
on winXP,  MVS6.0

when i run cmake
as a source directory i put directory where the vtk folder is located
(c:\VTK)
i get the error
CMake Error: The source directory 'OUTPUT_VARIABLE" does not appear to
contain CMakeLists.txt,

i tried inslalling diffrent versions of cmake and vtk(4.4) and i get the
same problem
i have no idea what to do

my folder vtk has file called CMakeLists.txt

Did you download the pre-compiled or the source? If the source, you have
to create the VTK libs with CMake. Also, take a look at the vtkMFC samples
shipped with VTK.
