[vtkusers] 2D features of VTK

Hello vtk users, 
 
I am trying to find out, what kind of features does vtk have for 2D images. I had a look on "VTK User's Guide", but it as more about 3D. Where can I find what can be done with an image visualized on vtk? Could anyone suggest me another source?
