[vtkusers] XML & WEB?

Dear sir,

I am thinking of WEB-based distributed system
for scientific visualization.
In this system, numerical calculation data will be
stored in a server side,
then clients will retrieve the data from the server
via HTTP from time to time.
The clients will be integrated in a WEB brouser.
(i.e. ActiveX)

I found that VTK has XML-based file formats.
Should I consider the XML formats for this architecture?
(I have not checked the format in detail.)
