[vtkusers] os x 10.3.2 ans solaris 9 compile problems

Hello, I am having problems compiling vtk on os x 10.3.2 and solaris 5.9.

on osx I get the following error when I run cmake .

[intrinsic:~/Desktop/VTK] sjunkin% cmake .
-- Check for working C compiler: gcc -- works
-- Check for working CXX compiler: c++ -- works
-- Compiling VTK CMake commands
Compiling VTK CMake commands - failed
-- Configuring done


on solaris with forte 6, I get a little further, but still fail when
running make:
buildling executable VTK/bin/GraphicsCxxTests.....
Undefined
symbol
_aprintf           VTK/bin/libvtktiff.so

ld error...
then everything falls apart.

what am I doing wrong for these two installs?
