[vtkusers] Smoothing the edges

Hi ,
I generated some images using mathematical formulations, I have two 
questions,
a.how do i smoothen along the edges (some tool in VTK)
b.How do i give the surface some kind of irregularity(example -moon's 
surface).
I have been trying a few things but not the desired results.
Let me know your ideas.
