[vtkusers] building vtk binaries using visual studio.net

hi,
  i have downloaded the source code for vtk and tried to build using visual 
studio.net. the error message that i get is " the compiler cl is not ableto 
compile simple tests program. the selected file is not a valid visual solution 
file". the same set up had worked with vc++ 6.0.
can anyone point out where the problem might be.
