[vtkusers] extract Volume of interest

hello frens'
 
i have a 3D binary file say of size 150 * 150 * 150 and i am able to generate the 3D image using vtkImageReader->vtkRayCastMapper->vtkVolume->vtkRenderer.
 
Is there a way for me to extract a particular volume of interest say 50 - 100 along x-axis, 50 - 100 along y-axis and 50 - 100 along z-axis.
 
Also how do i display the x, y and z axis ?
