[vtkusers] Medical images

Hi Vtkuser´s,

This question is best target for people that work with medical image processing. Is it possible to extract data information by scanning some tomographies? (The digital file is not available - only the developed films). If it is ok, can someone provide me further infomation about minimum scan resolution, data format, etc. The target is to visualize in  3D the effects of a rare sindrom that affetts a girl head.
I do not know technical details about the image (is out of my knowlodge area - I am just trying to help a doctor in her task).
