I have downloaded the Wintel Pre-Compiled Binaries (Windows 9x/NT) 
version of VTK. Can I start developing right away using visual C++ or is 
there any other thing i have to instal.

OS: MSWindows 2000 Professional.
Visual C++ 6.0
VTK Version 4.2 LatestRelease
