Hi Jonathan,

Try the 10/5/2002 version of vtk on Solaris:

cvs -d :pserver:anonymous at public.kitware.com:/cvsroot/VTK -z3 -q co -D
"10/5/2002" VTK

If you are using Mesa, make sure you set OPENGL_INCLUDE_PATH and 
OPENGL_LIBRARY in the cmake cache file.
