if you have the ltest cvs release of vtk, try
looking at the code in vtkImagePlaneWidget.cxx to
see a pipeline for mapping vtkImageReslice output, 
(::GenerateTexturePlane and ::SetInput)
or, just use a vtkImagePlaneWidget !
