[vtkusers] Build failure for libvtkHybrid.dylib

I've been trying to compile VTK 4.2.2 on Mac OS 10.2.6 for use with 
MayaVi and have run into a problem that I've not been able to solve.  
The build of the hybrid library is failing with the following message:

/Users/klonden/VTK-4.2.2/bin/libvtkHybrid.dylib...
ld: Undefined symbols:
vtkInstantiatorvtkPushPipelineNew()
vtkInstantiatorvtkPushImageReaderNew()
vtkInstantiatorvtkPushImageFilterSampleNew()

Where are these functions defined?
