[vtkusers] How to test VTK setup

Hi there,

I successfully built VTK version 4 on IBM's AIX 4.3.3.

1. How do I test my setup?
I tried to run e.g. "vtk Mace.tcl" and other examples and receive:

Illegal instruction

and that's it. This information is not really useful by itself.
How can I test my setup?

2. Which environment variables have to be set?

By the way I am using version 4.0 'cause the program slicer depends on
this version.
