Actually it is rather simple. Download the source of vtk.
Also CMake. Start CMake, choose your compiler and then 
CMake generates your wsp/dsp files.

Or as Marco said... If you only want to build projects of
your own. Download the setup.exe, install it. In the Studio
set the include and lib directory. That's it.
