I can confirm that although VTK wrapped for Java builds on OS X 10.2.1, 
however, it does not run.  I can't catch Java exceptions so the error 
is probably in the wrapping.

BTW,  __MACH__ appears to be defined on 10.2.1 (Yves Starreveld 
suggested that __APPLE__is always defined).
